Well, where to start? There are so many things I've done to the registry, Mmmmm...

See, I don't like thing so "animated" or as I call it, cartoon like. Somehow MS went overboard with this as I think they think you, the user is an idiot. If you will recall the best of the best gui (graphical user interface) systems ever produced; NeXt systems, and Mac is not as bad as MS.
So, I've been using dual or multi monitors since Windows NT 4 beta in about 1994-95 (no way you say, well yes way. Matrox with the Millenium video card gave us the ability to install 2 ISA cards in the system and use two independent displays (at the time) or one huge destop!)
Anyways, I like my desktop clean and black. My first task was to eliminate those ugly, cartoon like icons (what is this a Mac? well, come to think of it I own Macs, but mac is mac and we're talking windows here.). Bear in mind that right clicking on your new XP destop and choosing to, not show icons adds to the overhead on your system as Microsoft uses what they call "Active Desktop" to Cover up your icons (desktop) with another page. Now you in effect have a desktop ontop of your original desktop(Mo Memory, mo memory...)
This is only one example of how Microsoft "patches" a bad thing with yet another sometimes worse "fix".
