2014 2019.02: i'm converting my sites from html 4.x | css2.x to
HTML5 and CSS3, and using more php, this domain being last

i've Never written my site (this site, LandisTwo.com or LandisReed.com) for anyone but me. i use it as a 'notebook' of sorts to keep useful (to me) information that i can access from anywhere, as i code All my pages, including customers pages by hand in any number of utf-8 text editors, period.
'wysiwyg' nothing.

Anyways, I'm converting mine in my spare time and everyone should and if you don't, i make a halfass attempt to write as if someone else is reading it, but it ends up sounding, to me as if i'm talking to myself because i'm Not writing for anyone, but me... hmm, maybe i am, talking to myself.. so, humor me and pretend i'm talking to 'you', l,bnol... : ) Landis ☡

with that said, here's what i use to 'code':

1. i Only use Linux (mostly openSuSE, SuSE and KDE4 (kde5 is gaycentric crap)).
2. my servers are; SuSE or CentOS. my routers, cache and dns servers are; smoothwall (based on CentOS which is based on redhat).
3. my preferred editor is a utf-8 editor called SublimeText3 on KDE, it was kate.
   on microsucks Windows, notepad ++ or htmlkit { i used to code for it }
4. i only use, but am Not limited to mozilla nightly not these betas, but from dev nightly, public ftp (05.05.12, i just installed google chrome to see how my css3, html5 looked in it... nice) i hate google all most as much as facebook and mircosucks, but i have to say, my pages look even nicer in chrome than mozilla nightly Aurora.. hmm
   2019 - I've had it with the gaycentric snowflakes at Firefox. They have totally DESTROYED firefox with their sick desire to be a Chrome wannabe 'smartphone' looking POS.
5. i work Only live on the internet. Never 'locally' with gaycentric 'web dev' apps that need to 'publish'
6. to work 'live' i use konqueror (kde file manager) and again, SublimeText using the web server drive as local drive via stfp (sshd)

and so on... pretty nice as i can start a page (edit) on my main workstation, go to garage for a smoke and coffee, work on the same page there, cop a seat and watch The Five at 4 while continuing to edit the same page, material, site on my laptop...

New: a Really nice Street Map: World map (1280 px) - Landis.

Very fast.. mouse wheel zooms, drag to pan. sized to my firefox browser with toolbars collapsed
~This is a 1430 x 870 px version of the openStreets map above. I use it with my medium screen, no tool/tab bars, no scrolls, no border (linux setting) ie, full screen (F11).

Also, some of my edits that you might like:

• Bing Maps, without the white bar above and to the left of the main map / satellite window
• Google Maps without any of google's clutter.. (1680 px (22 in lcd))
• Google Maps 'my Airports' 'my maps' Airports i've visited (1440x904 full screen)
• Google Maps nodata without any 'my maps' data (1440x904 full screen)
• Google Maps nodata without any 'my maps' data (1280x800 'laptop' full screen)
• *fyi, the above font family is 'Philosopher' imported via googlefontsdirectory.
